Juan Barrios Rottman, Licensed Resident

Practicing Since: 2020

Philippians 4:5-7: Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.

Juan’s clients can expect to identify their strengths, build on them, and experience perspectives of truth, freedom, care, and scripture.  He believes that counseling is a team effort, where the client will expand and integrate strengths to build a meaningful life, while working towards goals.

Counseling is a valuable way to impact and support the struggles experienced through trauma, mental health needs, and complex family/relationship issues. He believes in the importance of embracing a lifestyle as a devout follower of Christ, and the intrinsic value of the human person.

Juan is fluent in Spanish and English, with over a decade of experience working with adults and children ages 6-17.  He has a background in social services, crisis/conflict resolution, school settings, severe mental health needs, suicidal ideation, disabilities, and relationships. Juan has coordinated interventions and strategies for youth, families, homeless outreach, mission trips, and creative retreats for many parishes in the Northern Virginia area.

Juan is married and has one daughter.  Juan enjoys hiking, acoustic guitar, marital arts, and serving those in need through many Church communities.  Juan also likes to cook with his family, watch movies, and build DIY projects.

Juan is a Licensed Resident in the state of Virginia (Lic#: 0704016189) and is under the clinical supervision of Stacey Crosson, LMFT (VA Lic#: 0717001506).
