Edward Ruiz, LCPC, NCC

Practicing Since: 2014

Creating a warm and safe atmosphere where individuals can share about what is going on in their lives without fear of judgement is Edward’s goal. Viewing life issues through a lens of a Christian worldview which is, in part, founded on the idea that God created all people in His image, and they are endowed with innate dignity and worth that comes from God. Utilizing a blend of family systems therapy with cognitive behavioral therapy helps guide individuals toward optimal treatment outcomes.

After earning his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Edward has additional experience working with trauma, suicidal behaviors, crisis intervention, as well as working with the whole family system (couples, parents, children, and adolescents). He has experience working with couples helping them form the deep and meaningful connection God intends in marriage.

Edward has considerable life experience as he is a veteran, kidney donor and a widower. He enjoys cycling, reading, and writing and his two dogs, Jagger, and Mowgli.

Edward is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LC11991).
