Maya Jean-Baptiste

Practicing since: 2020
Maya Jean-Baptiste earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Her passion for counseling was shaped by a desire to help individuals move from confusion to clarity, and from simply surviving to living with intention. She felt called to create a space where clients could slow down, feel truly seen, and explore their experiences without judgment. Maya became a counselor not only to help alleviate symptoms, but also to support clients in building deeper self-awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and cultivating lasting clarity in their lives.
Her approach to treatment is collaborative, structured, and insight oriented. Maya believes therapy should feel both emotionally safe and directionally purposeful. She works to integrate cognitive and behavioral strategies with deeper exploration of attachment patterns, core beliefs, and past experiences that may be influencing current challenges. Each treatment is personalized to meet the unique needs of every individual, balancing thoughtful reflection, practical skill-building, and clear next steps to encourage meaningful and sustainable growth.
Clients working with Maya can expect a supportive, structured, and collaborative treatment experience focused on establishing clear goals and tracking progress to maintain alignment and purpose. She prioritizes creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard and understood while being supported in moving toward meaningful change. Guided by her core values, Maya believes that with the right support and structure, individuals have a strong capacity for growth, resilience, and transformation.
