Safe Harbor Christian Counseling

Many people consider it to be a standard of caring for their physical body by having an annual physical. Unfortunately, many of us do not take the time to assess our relationship and acquire an accurate picture of the current state of our relationship. At Safe Harbor, we believe that preventative measures before marriage and enrichment of marriages before they unravel are essential to building a fulfilled relationship. We invite you to take our 3 session relationship check up in order to help your relationship thrive!

Our relationship check up consists of taking an initial inventory called The Gottman Assessment. This inventory provides a comprehensive snapshot of the relationship of a couple including measurable scores in various areas of the relationship. Then, the couple has 3 sessions with a trained counselor in order to discuss relational matters assessed by the inventory.

Relationship areas covered by the Inventory

The Gottman Relationship Checkup is comprised of five sections:
Friendship & Intimacy: relationship satisfaction, romance, admiration, emotional disengagement, breakup proneness

The Safety Scales: trust, chaos, commitment, and emotional philosophies

The Conflict Scales: stress, relationship harshness, and conflict management tactics

The Shared Meaning System: shared rituals, values, and goals in a relationship

Individual Areas of Concern: individual risks, safety, sex, depression, drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, anxiety, and other psychological or psychiatric issues requiring attention

Relationship Check Up Counseling Sessions

The counselor meets with the couple for 3 sessions to discuss the results of the inventory and lead the couple in actual exercises aimed at providing clinical feedback and a suggested treatment plan with specific recommendations for intervention.

$375 for inventory and 3 follow up sessions
