About: Dr. Maxfield-DeCarlo earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland in 1999 and a PhD in Human Services, Counseling in 2010. Since that time, she has completed training in the use of integrative therapies (Yoga and energy therapy) in the treatment of depression and anxiety. Her past clinical experience includes providing counseling to children and adults in emergency services, shock trauma, oncology, substance abuse, infectious disease, and hospice. Throughout her professional experiences, she has come to have a deep reverence and honor for working with clients who are facing life transitions and assisting clients in moving toward not simply surviving but rather thriving everyday. Dr. Maxfield-DeCarlo is a native of Maryland and is married with four children.
