Tracie Romero, MA, Resident in Counseling

Practicing Since: 2017
Have you ever struggled with life in ways that make you feel alone, unsafe, stressed, or worried? Having served in the military with an expectation to keep it together, Tracie can relate. Life has its challenges, and we have all gone through different obstacles. One thing to remember, you do not have to have the answer right now. You do not have to go through this alone.
Together with the client, Tracie aims to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment in which clients can explore any challenges they may be facing or have faced. She strongly believes in the power of the therapeutic partnership to help uncover the strengths and resources we all possess to bring about the changes we desire in our lives. Tracie feels honored to be able to offer assistance to others on this shared journey and commends clients for reaching out to make things better.
Tracie uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, holistic, person-centered, acceptance and commitment therapies to help deal with depression, anxiety, loss, anger, relationship issues, sexual identity/orientation or sexual issues related to trauma, job stress, and adjustment concerns. She believes in using humor, spirituality, relaxation training, mindfulness techniques, or trauma-informed yoga to help clients as they work together to reach their goals. Some of her certifications include Psychological First Aid, Sexual Trauma, and Grief.
Tracie is licensed in Virginia #0704006436 and is under the supervision of Kathleen Mikkelsen, LPC license #0701006940
