Practicing Since: 2008
As a clinician, it is important to Rachel that her clients feel empowered and supported throughout their counseling experience. Every client has unique and complex life experiences which have led them to seek help through the counseling relationship. It is a priority for Rachel’s clinical practice that she adapts her clinical interventions to meet the needs of her clients and that they experience a nonjudgmental, supportive, and individualized, person-centered therapy atmosphere. Throughout the counseling experience, she partners with her clients to develop treatment goals and personal goals for them to work through and collaborates with them to enhance personal insights, self-worth, and self-confidence.
Rachel utilizes CBT techniques, Mindfulness skills practice, Trauma Informed Care, Solution-Focused, Narrative-, and Person-Centered modalities, and Dialectical perspectives to provide a variety of evidenced based treatment options. Every person’s therapy experience should focus on what they identify as their personal goals and needs. Rachel works to provide a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered therapy experience for her clients.
Considering therapy can be a scary and overwhelming process. Often the people Rachel sees are experiencing intense emotional distress with episodes of hopelessness, worthlessness, and anxiety with chronic worry and despair. Rachel works hard to meet her clients where they are in their distress and provide a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free space for healing. Her hope is for her clients to feel comfortable to learn and apply new therapy skills to improve self-worth, navigate distressing symptoms, enrich family, social, occupational, and spiritual relationships, and embrace a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.
Rachel is licensed in the state of Maryland #16275.
