Karol Gebbia practices as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of North Carolina. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling and Education Guidance in 2004 from Loyola University-New Orleans in the state of Louisiana. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from University of New Orleans-Lake front in 1993.
Karol has served in several settings over the past 20+ years seeking to assist others struggling to overcome obstacles to health and wellbeing. Karol has worked with children, families, adults, couples and the elderly. In most recent years providing child and family counseling on an outpatient basis in church settings, individual counseling to adults in an inpatient psychiatric setting and direct assistance to adults struggling with severe and persistent mental illness while undergoing major life transitions from institutional settings to living in the community.
Karol’s clinical work draws strongly from a person centered approach, with reliance on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused techniques and a Biblical perspective of valuing and grace.
Karol enjoys hiking with her 12 year old son, 17 year old daughter and husband of 23 years.
