Beth believes that people are complex and integrated beings with unique needs of mind, body, and spirit. Beth believes that the relationship between the counselor and the client is critical to therapy. She feels it is important for clients to feel safe and to know there is a compassionate listener who will walk with the client through their journey toward healing. Beth uses a variety of approaches based upon the needs of the client and will work with the client to determine what strategies work best for him/her. Some of the strategies that Beth uses with clients include: cognitive behavioral, person-centered, motivational interviewing, acceptance-commitment, solution-focused, mindfulness, strengths-based, and trauma-focused interventions.

Beth is a native Marylander and after 30 years in education, Beth earned her M.S. in Education in Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. Beth completed her internship in mental health counseling at an out-patient mental health clinic providing individual and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults for a variety of mental health issues including: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, sexual abuse and trauma, LGBTQ issues, personality disorders, and persistent mental illness. Beth is particularly interested in the area of spirituality and spiritual related trauma. She currently holds a Maryland Graduate Professional Counselor License.

In her spare time, Beth enjoys reading, hiking, playing volleyball, and spending time with extended family. Beth is passionate about her faith and is active in her church community, serving in a variety of ministries.
