Cornelia Baines, Master’s Level Clinical Intern

Practicing since: 2026

Cornelia Baines is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Her experience in law enforcement inspired her to shift the trajectory of her career toward the mental health field. Throughout her professional experience, she has worked with individuals and families navigating trauma, grief, substance use, domestic violence, and mental health crises. These experiences strengthened her desire to provide therapeutic interventions for those who are going through difficult seasons. Cornelia’s background and passion for mental health allow her to support trauma survivors, first responders, veterans, and others facing life’s challenges.

Cornelia’s approach to treatment is centered on building trust, listening without judgment, and creating a safe environment where clients feel heard and respected. She utilizes evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while recognizing that each client’s needs are unique. She believes treatment should be individualized and collaborative, allowing clients to actively participate in their healing and growth.

Clients can expect a supportive and respectful environment where they are heard and valued. As a beginning counselor, Cornelia is committed to meeting each client with compassion and a willingness to listen without judgment. Her goal is for clients to leave each session with practical strategies and tools, while feeling hopeful about the journey ahead.

Cornelia Baines is under the clinical supervision of Jessica Ives, LCPC, licensed in the State of Maryland (#LC2578).
