Practicing Since: 2018
Arielle believes strongly in meeting people where they are in a calm, authentic, and non-judgmental space. Her approach to counseling comes first from a strong therapeutic relationship. She draws on different theoretical approaches based on each specific person and their unique strengths and needs. She uses principles from CBT, Solution-Focused, Reality Therapy, and Impact Therapy while utilizing creative approaches to counseling.
Arielle received her Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling in 2009 from George Mason University. After spending the last 6 years living and working overseas in Africa and the Middle East, she decided to return and complete a post master’s program in school counseling while also pursuing her LPC as a Resident in Counseling. Her passion is working with kids and families but also welcomes working with anyone who needs support, help, healing, or moving forward in their lives.
As a Third-Culture Kid herself and having lived and worked overseas as an adult among numerous communities including educational, diplomatic, and missionary platforms, Arielle has come to love working with a diverse population. As a Christian, she believes God wants good for us, to give us hope, and a future. God wants us to thrive not based on our circumstances but on what He has already equipped us with and done for us on our behalf.
Arielle loves nothing more than a good adventure, both locally and internationally. She also loves to snuggle up at home with her two girls and a puppy.
Arielle is licensed in Virginia- License #0704013465 and is under the clinical supervision of Kathleen Mikkelsen, LPC (License # 0701006940).
