Andrea believes being a therapist is a privilege which affords her the opportunity to help others in their journey through life. Her approach is to implement a person-centered, strengths-based model with a clinical focus on empowering individuals as they heal emotionally. Andrea’s goal is to provide a supportive and professional environment to her clients. She utilizes various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, but will employ other approaches to meet the needs of each client. She also welcomes utilizing a faith-based approach in addressing one’s mental health. 

Andrea received her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from McDaniel College. Andrea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. She has 29 years of post-graduate school experience in the field of social work. Her experience involved serving as a Clinical Supervisor and a Therapist providing outpatient psychotherapy in a mental health center to children, adolescents, young adults and families. Additionally, she has provided Christian counseling services to youth and adults in a church setting.
