Alexander Watson
Alexander Watson is an activist for change, mediator, entrepreneur, and author committed to empowering the lives of individuals society has deemed unworthy. Combining theoretical studies in Conflict and Negotiation Management, practical experience gained in various organizations, and advanced trainings solidifies his ability to educate and train individuals in the profession of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Watson is certified in Basic, Parenting Plan Mediation, and Settlement Conference Facilitation. Alexander uses these tools to assist the Community Mediation Program, a non-profit organization to create peaceful communities in Baltimore City. He has also taken part in a Healthy Relationship training crafted by Drs. John & Julie Gottman. This training has allowed him to facilitate relationship classes that have empowered couples with skills and decision making processes necessary to have a healthy relationship. He has also obtained a Graduate Degree, in Human Service Administration, from Coppin State College and the University of Baltimore's collaborative program, along with an Undergraduate Degree, in Business and Finance, from Mt. St. Mary's College.
Mr. Watson is spiritually and community grounded as well. He serves as an Armor Bearer for Rev. Dr. Jamal Harrison-Bryant at the Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church. Mr. Watson has a political side to him also, serving as Volunteer Coordinator for Kevin A. Brooks' 2006 44th District Senate Campaign. Working in these capacities has sparked his love of humanity and heightened his commitment to representing the underserved.
His passion is to make a difference in the lives of all individuals. Mr. Watson feels now is the time to move beyond empty rhetoric, research, theories and the unfulfilled promises to "Doing the Work." That "work" is creating innovative systems and partnering with progressive organizations to provide services, which will better the lives of all individuals, especially youth. Alexander believes that adults must have a vested interest in the future of our youth. He feels we have to set the standard for excellence, which will lead them in the direction of greatness.
