Danae Amstutz

Danae Amstutz moved to the Greencastle, PA area in June of 2007. She and her family have enjoyed integrating into the Franklin County community. She is originally from the Harrisonburg, VA area and has spent significant time living and working in a number of rural communities in both Virginia and West Virginia. Danae enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time with her husband and two boys.
Danae graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and minors in Psychology and Family Studies. She received her Masters of Social Work degree from Radford University in 2004. She is currently pursuing licensure in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Danae’s experience includes working with children and families who are involved in the foster care system, children and adolescents who have behavioral and mental health diagnoses, and working with families to help them achieve stability within their home. She is available to provide counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Danae uses an eclectic treatment style that is tailored to the specific needs of the clientele she is working with. She uses a systemic approach in her counseling and works to empower the client to utilize their strengths to overcome the challenges they face. Other therapeutic techniques that Danae uses include, but are not limited to, Applied Behavior Analysis, Experiential Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Danae believes that spirituality and faith in God play an important role in the therapeutic process and is open to incorporating prayer, scripture, and biblical principles into the counseling session when desired by the client. As a Christian, Danae believes that God is intimately concerned about each area of our lives and that He desires to walk with us in our journey from brokenness and pain to healing and hope.
