Taryn Grey, M.Ed., LCPC, NCC
Taryn Grey is a Maryland Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NCC). Taryn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University and went on to earn her Masters of Education in School Counseling at Loyola University in 2007. After spending a couple of years in the school system, Taryn felt called to pursue post-graduate work to obtain her license for private counseling. Since making the switch to private counseling she has greatly enjoyed the diversity of clients and presenting challenges. Taryn has spent nearly 5 years working with adolescents and their families in the school system, encouraging and empowering them to make choices that enable them to achieve their goals, and now looks forward to doing the same as a full-time therapist.
Taryn believes that relationship is the key to effective counseling. As a counselor she seeks to build an atmosphere of understanding and support to encourage a safe environment for exploration of the difficult life challenges her clients are facing. She believes in working with the client to help them uncover the power and abilities to make changes where it is desired. Taryn enjoys coming alongside her clients, meeting them where they are and helping them bear their burdens as they become strengthened to overcome them. She has a passion for working with children, adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, family and relationship challenges, grief/bereavement, parenting problems, and behavioral concerns.
Taryn is a member of Perry Hall Baptist Church. She resides in Abingdon with her husband, young son, and two cats.
