Marina utilizes the Strength Perspectives, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy approach to treatment. Marina believes clients can do all things through Christ that gives them strength. Marina also believes people need support and encouragement to address the root of their issues and explore ways move towards wholeness and healing.

Marina received her Master Degree from the University of Kansas School of Social Work in 1990 and a Master degree in Human Resources from Towson State University in 1990. Marina works as an Employee Assistance Counselor (EAP) at the Social Security Administration for the past 22 years. Prior to working at Social Security, Marina worked at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Washington DC and Topeka, Kansas. Marina has also worked at the Howard County Detention Center and worked part time as the Project Coordinator for Girl Scouts Beyond Bars for 12 years.

As an EAP Counselor, Marina has seen clients who have experienced grief and loss, domestic violence, divorce, blended families, financial distress, anxiety, ADHD, depression, work issues with management, trauma, addiction, caregiving, and stress management. Marina has facilitated numerous support groups which include: Women’s Empowerment, Financial Health, and Grief and Loss. 

In addition to the listed specialties, Marina is also available to work with clients with financial issues and retirement concerns.
