About: Jim has a strong interest in Mindfulness Based Interventions and compassion training. He is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with the Center for Mindfulness at The University of California at San Diego Medical School. Jim also has interests in performance training with mindfulness, compassion, and resilience for athletes, first responders, and those with high stress occupations, including military veterans.
Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, Jim worked as a teacher in special education at the Kennedy Krieger Institute working with children with Autism and served as an English teacher in Bangladesh as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Helping others overcome challenges is a motivation to Jim since his oldest sister has special needs. Having spent several years in Asia, Jim also loves to travel.
