Bob Bennett

Bob Bennett is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor. He is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. During his 21 years as a school psychologist, Bob worked primarily as a counselor and crisis intervener with students, ranging from kindergarten through high school, and their families.

Bob holds two Master's degrees, a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), and has attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, specializing in Christian counseling. During that time he also was commissioned as a law enforcement chaplain. He has a wide variety of training and experience working with troubled youth and adults, and has worked extensively in resolving staff and administration conflicts.

Along with his experience in Christian counseling, he has been actively involved with several ministries—leading Bible studies at the Lake County jail, actively participating in Christian Gang Outreach, being a small group leader at his local church, and doing volunteer work at a homeless shelter. Having personally experienced major life-changing traumas, including his wife's serious medical conditions, he believes God has given him a heart to help those who are facing life's many struggles and trials. He especially reaches out to those dealing with chronic or critical illness, family concerns, and as a former police officer and Viet Nam combat veteran, he has a deep understanding of those experiencing the effects of war or violence.

His focus is on seeking the Lord's will and striving to follow God's guidance in all things. As a counselor, his prayer is that the Holy Spirit will be an active participant in the counseling experience. Bob is married to Jan, a hospital chaplain, is stepfather to two wonderful adult children, and has recently become the proud grandpa of Kailey Adele.
