Amy Patrick
Amy Patrick received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, as well as a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. As part of her Master's Education she had experiences working with married couples, families, individuals, and children dealing with a broad scope of issues. After moving to Maryland, Amy worked for two years at Baptist Family & Children's Services where she did case management for treatment of foster children, taught parenting classes, developed and implemented a family preservation program, and performed some counseling duties with children of all ages.
Amy has a heart desire to see people realize and fulfill the plans that God has to give them a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11) while growing in their relationship with Christ. She uses both solution-focused and behavioral interventions with clients to encourage small steps each week toward achieving their counseling goals. She believes that the combination of sound clinical practice, along with dependence on prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, will bring about positive change in all people.
Amy grew up in the Southern Baptist church and continues to be involved in ministries at First Baptist Church of Laurel along with her husband, Bryan, who is the Minister of Worship and Music. Bryan and Amy have one child, Lauren.
Amy's work at Safe Harbor will focus primarily on children and adolescents, although she believes strongly in including the entire family in the counseling process. She currently has office hours at the Laurel location.
